Declutter - Day 5
I’ve been having a lot of free time lately, but I find it really hard to get started with any activity. There’s no instant dopamine hit, so the initial activation energy required to pick up a book or any activity is high. My brain has been used to constant stimulation, so I think picking books that are more attuned to my tastes might help. That way, I’ll feel a natural pull towards the activity rather than thinking of it as something I should be doing.
A few things that might help:
- Pick books with an easier writing style so that it feels frictionless.
- Make a habit of reading one chapter per day or a page count like 10 pages, and then go from there.
- Pick books from TV series; there are many TV series based on books, which can help you understand what you like to read.
